I was losing sleep at night

December 23rd, 2009 by admin

Hi, I would love to share my story on the site. I honestly didn’t have much debt; but it was enough that I was losing sleep at night.

I still have a while to go until I am completely out of debt; but I now breathe easy. Since I began this program I have learned to better manage my money and have been forced to live without a credit card; something I thought was impossible. (more…)

Credit Canada allowed me to get back on track, breaking the bad habits that allowed me to get in debt.  Now 29 years old I was able to finish my BFA degree and continuing my education, for a future that I wanted.  I was so confused and lost in the pile of debt not knowing what to do and Credit Canada was very clear and helpful to manage the order in my life & learning from my mistakes! The light at the end of the tunnel

December 23rd, 2009 by admin

Well, when I came to credit Canada I was in the position that every month I have to go on debt to pay my current expenses.  I couldn’t sleep at night and I cried every day.  Then I started in the program, at the beginning the budget was very tight and my first Christmas I couldn’t spend on gifts because I didn’t have the credit cards, but now I see the light at the end of the tunnel, I can also put some money aside for my dream vacation and my emergencies.  Not much but it is a start.  (more…)

I can’t begin to express the relief I felt when I spoke to a Credit Canada representative for the first time. I was very close to signing up with a credit consolidation firm, who were about to charge me almost double the original amount that I owed to my creditors to resolve my debt.  (more…)

My journey started about 3 years ago

December 23rd, 2009 by admin

My journey started about 3 years ago.  The calls from the creditors and not answering the telephone any more.  Depression, helplessness not even able to talk to anyone.  Embarrassed that how could this happen when I was earning a descent wage. We all have our reasons, and everything was important. (more…)

Going to college on credit

December 23rd, 2009 by admin

Going to college I dealt with the problem of not qualifying for OSAP so I had to put all my tuition and books on multiple credit cards.  For years I was struggling financially and some weeks would have to give away my entire paycheque just to pay the minimum payments on my cards. As time went on the interest rate grew as did my stress level. It got to the point where I was even affraid to answer my own phone because I thought it was a bill collector.  (more…)

Caught up in applying for a lot of credit cards

In todays world having credit is inevitable. As a young adult I was caught up in applying for a lot of credit cards not knowing what that meant. Credit counselling allowed me to bring all my debts together and make one low monthly payment.  (more…)
