Meet Our Management Team | Credit Canada
Bruce Sellery

Bruce Sellery

Chief Executive Officer

I lead the team of experienced, compassionate and committed people who work with thousands of clients every year to help them get out of debt. My early career was in marketing at Procter & Gamble. Then I moved to business journalism as an anchor at BNN Bloomberg. But I found my true passion for helping people get a handle on their money as a financial coach and workshop leader, author of two bestselling books, and as a Money Columnist for Cityline, CBC Radio and MoneySense.

My husband and I are proud parents to a teen, and in my spare time, I love to hike, cook, and watch Schitt’s Creek on Netflix. (Plus, I have a ridiculous memory for Broadway musical trivia. Try me.)

Mary-Anne Beatty

Mary-Anne Beatty

Chief Financial Officer

I’m a mother of three (if we count my Britany Spaniel), an amateur baker and an experienced CPA in the non-profit sector. I joined Credit Canada to help support the organization’s financial health and stability, ensure regulatory compliance, and provide transparent reporting to its stakeholders.

I love spending time with my adult children (and their dogs), watching The Bachelor and creating spreadsheets.

With over 15 years of experience in sponsorship and fundraising, I've had the privilege of working across the arts, environment, education, and healthcare. I'm thrilled to combine this expertise with a deep interest in personal finance at Credit Canada. I believe financial literacy is a powerful tool, and I'm committed to working with partners who help us empower Canadians to get out of debt and back into life.

Beyond work, I enjoy a good coffee and pastry at a cafe, learning the art of gardening, and a well-deserved binge of Gilmore Girls.

In my free time, I enjoy travelling with my husband, anything from a short weekend road trip to flying to the other side of the world… Some of our recent adventures have included trips to Prince Edward County and Bali!

A few of my favourite things are live music, NFL football, pinball and trying new restaurants.

Manager of Financial Coaching and Education

I am the Manager of Financial Coaching and Education. I started my career in credit counselling in 1997.  For 21 of those years, I worked as a credit counsellor with the Niagara agency, and in 2018, I moved into the Executive Director position.  In 2019, I joined Credit Canada, where I returned to credit counselling for a year, and in 2020, I moved into the position of Project Manager. As a counsellor, I truly appreciated being able to counsel individuals to get out of debt and get back to life.

I have an incredible blended family and love spending time with them.  I enjoy running, reading, and secretly watching sci-fi and Marvel movies.

Leah Wells

Director of Marketing

I am a marketing and communications professional with 16+ years of experience. After many years supporting Canadian for-profit businesses, I combined my passion for volunteerism with marketing and shifted into the non-profit world. In my role as Director of Marketing for Credit Canada, I am committed to ensuring that Canadians know that our team can offer them the support they need to get out of debt and back into life.

I love visiting Costa Rica, where I hope to eventually spend 6 months a year (if I can ever convince my husband). For now, I enjoy swimming, doing bad karaoke, volunteering, and spending every possible moment with my 3 young kids.

Counselling and Client Services Operations Manager

I’m the Counselling & Client Services Operations Manager at Credit Canada. I'm a non-profit operational specialist with over ten years of experience across various roles and organisations. Over the years, I’ve managed multi-million-dollar healthcare programs, built and improved program operations from the ground up, and led people operations across three different countries.

Outside of work, I’m an Irish/Cypriot transplant from the UK, so I spend way too much time drinking tea and talking football (the real kind). I’m a fan of cinematic blockbusters, hard-hitting dramas, and fantasy shows, and I’m always up for exploring new cultures through travel or food. I’m a proud dog-dad to Nanouk, who keeps life full of energy and fur, and a plant-dad to more monsteras than is probably practical.
